چکیده

The objective of this study is to produce suitability maps for potential rainwater harvesting techniques (RWHT) in the West Bank (WB), Palestine. These aim reduce water scarcity, which a major problem conservation resources area. Based on literature reviews and expert recommendations, seven RWHts were selected (runoff basin system, contour ridges, cisterns, eyebrow terrace, check dam, on-farm pond, bench terraces). Analysis methods performed Arc GIS environment include spatial analysis data reclassification. Other calculations multi-criteria assigning suitability. Five criteria (rainfall, runoff, land use, slope, soil texture) RWHt analyzed map each technique. results show that runoff systems northeast southwest WB are most suitable, with about 50% area moderately suitable technique, while 70% very ridge Furthermore, shows almost cisterns. Sixty percent puddling, especially north WB. areas high different comprehensively cover WB, as shown integrated map. Nevertheless, approach can help decision makers making an initial selection RWH their region.

Evaluation of Rainwater Harvesting Methods and Structures Using Analytical Hierarchy Process for a Large Scale Industrial Area

In India, with ever increasing population and stress on natural resources, especially water, rejuvenation of rainwater harvesting (RWH) technique which was forgotten over the days is becoming very essential. Large number of RWH methods that are available in the literature are demand specific and site specific, since RWH system depends on the topography, land use, land cover, rainfall and demand...

Integrated Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and GIS for Land Use Suitability Analysis

Analysis of land-use suitability requires consideration of variety of criteria. Application of GIS alone could not overcome the issue of inconsistency in expert opinion when trying to judge and assign relative importance to each of many criteria considered in a suitability analysis. To address this issue, the Analytical Hierarchy Process method is used in combination with the GIS tool. The pape...
